Brittany Mahomes calls NFL refs the real MVPs of Chiefs-Bills game

The Kansas City Chiefs faced their second consecutive loss, this time against the Buffalo Bills. The game’s turning point was a late penalty that affected the Chiefs’ chance to secure a victory.

Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, known for her gym style outfits, expressed her displeasure on social media. Brittany, present among the crowd, captured a video of a referee during the game. She captioned the video with “MVP,” continuing her sarcastic commentary on the officials’ perceived impact on the match.

Chiefs fans were left frustrated and angry, believing a legitimate game-winning touchdown was unfairly taken away.

Brittany Mahomes’ stance also aligned with the public sentiments expressed by her husband, Patrick Mahomes. The duo vocalized their frustration and dissatisfaction after experiencing their second consecutive defeat.

Watch: NFL officials’ controversial call frustrated Patrick Mahomes

In the final moments of the game, Patrick Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce, who then lateraled the ball to receiver Kadarius Toney, seemingly resulting in a touchdown.

The play was nullified because Toney was deemed to have lined up in the neutral zone, with his feet clearly ahead of the line of scrimmage. The controversial penalty denied the Chiefs a potential go-ahead touchdown and led to a second consecutive week of defeat.

Mahomes, who recently solidified his reign as a top QB, displayed unusual frustration, expressing anger and disappointment. He protested to the officials, even directing complaints toward Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

“Worst f—king call I’ve ever seen. That was f—king terrible,” Mahomes said.

The QB, in the post-game press conference, criticized the call as the “worst” and “terrible.” He emphasized the impact of a flag altering the game’s outcome and expressed frustration at the lack of a warning regarding Toney’s offside.

Former NFL referee John Parry supported the call, stating Toney’s clear offside position. Referee Carl Cheffers explained that warnings are customary but not mandatory, especially when the player is significantly offside.

But Patrick Mahomes expressed frustration with the role of officiating, noting his preference for letting teams play without excessive referee intervention.

“I mean, that’s the thing is, I [would] rather they let us play, man, like let us play the game,” Mahomes said. “Then, whatever happens, like throwing the flag and deciding the game one or another. That’s what hurts you. That’s why I’d like last week.”

Patrick Mahomes emphasized the desire for the game’s outcome to be about the teams’ performance on the field, rather than controversial calls after the game. However, nothing can be done now as the Chiefs have already faced their second consecutive loss.
