Brock Purdy community outreach comes to light amid Patrick Mahomes’ $1.625 million charity

It goes without saying why fans admire Patrick Mahomes given his charities and other contributions with his staggering skills, which also came to light with his recent donation through 15 and the Mahomies. However, Brock Purdy is yet another player whose name is brought to light that overshadows Patrick’s achievement in the recent game and his donation.

The final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Brock Purdy, has relentlessly received applause from Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young. Steve Young made headlines by equating Purdy’s abilities to those of star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Recently after his staggering win, Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Britanny Mahomes, donated $1.625 million charity to the Boys and Girls Club of America via 15 and the Mahomies. Besides, the foundation also pledged a long-term adherence to the club and an additional $1500 per touchdowns.

However, keeping the stats and his contribution in mind, Mahomes does not seem to be the only one with a community outreach because Brock Purdy was reportedly seen spending time with the kids from the club.

Brock Purdy, the gifted 49ers quarterback, illuminates not only on the football field but also in reaching people’s hearts. He was accompanied by a few of his San Francisco 49ers colleagues to surprise the kids at the Boys’ and Girls’ club on October 8 by visiting the Silicon Valley Alviso.

Pardy was seen interacting with the little 49ers fans and he stated, “To be able to be here with kids who really are just going through life and just being able to love on them and encourage them, that’s what I live for.”

Purdy and his teammates reportedly cherished spending time with the children very much. The quarterback’s forthcoming game will get a boost from this experience.

Nick Zakelj’s revelation on roommate Purdy

Recently, Nick Zakelj, offensive tackle for the 49ers and Brock Purdy’s roommate, appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area Network. The two players met on the 3rd Day of the NFL Draft in 2022, hence have been roommates for the first two seasons.

According to Nick, Purdy and him shared a mutual friend, linebacker Mike Rose. After playing together in childhood leagues and subsequently becoming teammates in high school at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School in Brecksville, Ohio, Zakelj and Rose have been friends that spans almost two decades. “That’s how we got that connection,” Zakelj mentioned “And the friendship took off from there”. Fordham’s Zakelj was selected in the sixth round of the draft, but Purdy was the 262nd and final player selected.

In the interview, he describes Purdy as an individual from a close ground. “People joke about having the starting quarterback as your roommate”. “I think it’s funny from the outside. He’s still a very humble guy. He still has that work ethic that’s contributed to his success on the field,” he said.

Nick added, “We’ve started to grill out a little more”. “We switch off. He’s got the upper hand on me right now. But we just hang out and watch movies here and there when we have free time from football.”
