Broken Tibia Sidelines Lions Star Aidan Hutchinson for Rest of NFL Season

Unfortunately for the Detroit Lions, star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson broke his tibia in Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys and will miss the rest of the NFL season. Head Coach Dan Campbell said that Aidan Hutchinson broke his leg in the third quarter after the strong 47-9 win over the Cowboys.

Hutchinson got hurt right after he tackled Dak Prescott. The medical team quickly helped him, putting his leg in a special cast and taking him to the hospital. Coach Campbell said, “Hate it for Hutch. That’s tough. It was tough. He’s in good hands right now. He’s being taken care of.”

The head coach further added, “It’s hard when you lose somebody like him, but we’ll know a lot more after this and obviously wish him the best.” Fox NFL announcer Kevin Burkhardt captured the heartbreaking moment well.

He said, “If you just tuned in, the score doesn’t matter. That’s Aidan Hutchinson, the Lions best defensive player who’s laying on the ground, who’s suffered a gruesome leg injury. We’re not showing it. I just hope he’s ok.”

Who will the Lions target after Aidan Hutchinson’s injury?

The NFL trade deadline is approaching on November 5th, and the Lions are searching for replacements since former Eagles star Aidan Hutchinson’s injury leaves a significant hole in their defense. Many people like the idea of using Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby.

Another option worth considering is Haason Reddick, who plays for the Jets. If the Lions promote from within, they could provide more opportunities for players like James Houston, Josh Paschal, and Isaac Ukwu to shine.
