Bronny James Calls JJ Redick A ‘Great Coach’ Who’s ‘Upped the Vibes’

Despite having no prior NBA coaching experience, JJ Redick was given the opportunity after the Lakers parted ways with Darvin Ham and missed out on hiring UConn’s Dan Hurley. Redick has really taken advantage of this chance, helping to build a positive vibe within the team.

Even LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, who just joined the Lakers as a rookie, has said nice things about the new coach for making the team feel better.

It looks like rookie Bronny James is really enjoying the vibe that head coach Redick has created during training camp. He said Redick is a “great coach” who has really “upped the vibes” in the team. The Athletic’s Jovan Buha shared Bronny James’ words on coach JJ Redick.

According to Buha, Bronny said, “He’s a great coach so far. It’s been amazing vibes in the facility so far. I feel like it’s upped the vibes from what it was last year from what I’ve heard.”

Initially, a number of supporters and prominent NBA figures questioned if Redick’s youth would be enough for him to take the helm of a legendary club like Purple and Gold. However, he quickly proved himself by receiving praise for announcing the team’s opening roster.

JJ Redick believes in Bronny James despite his slow start in the preseason

Bronny James had a bit of a rough start in his preseason debut for the Lakers, putting up only two points along with one rebound, one assist, and three blocks against the Timberwolves. Despite this, coach JJ Redick praised his defensive effort after the game.

He said, “We’re really happy with his progress. The kid, you know, he can do some things defensively at his size that are really unique and can I think turn him into a really disruptive defender and that kind of manifested …I liked what I say from Bronny, truth of the fact, he’s so easy to coach.”
