Browns QB Deshaun Watson brutally responds to critics alleging him for intentionally missing NFL games, offering update on his return

Deshaun Watson, the Cleveland Browns quarterback was signed by the Browns to a massive five-year deal worth $230 million but now he is unable to play because of a shoulder injury. His absence from the games has led to the speculations that he is not interested in playing. 

The quarterback recently addressed questions from critics regarding the seriousness of his shoulder injury and his absence from NFL games. Watson expressed his frustration with these allegations.

Deshaun Watson recently talked about his shoulder injury and possible return date to the game. The quarterback emphasized that he is still in the process of recovering which means he can’t immediately return to play.  Watson also made sure to respond to all the critics who have been continuously criticizing him for using his injury as an excuse to avoid playing.

There has also been a lot of talk about the QB’s lucrative contract. People were calling out Watson for not playing despite getting so much money from the team. Deshaun Watson responded to these criticisms by emphasizing that football has been the most important part of his life.

He said that he has been playing football since he was 6 years old, emphasizing that he has a passion for football and a strong desire to play. The quarterback emphasized that the NFL is his dream and he has worked hard for it.

“Why wouldn’t I want to play? I just worked my a** off for two years to get back and play,” the QB said.

Watson also stated that these controversies and criticisms are just part of his career, his true intentions are to become a great player. The QB stated that although he’s not happy with this injury, he’s mentally satisfied and is not worrying about making a comeback soon. He is taking his time to recover so he can come back to his full potential. 

Deshaun Watson unsure about his return due to shoulder injury

Deshaun Watson was unable to play the last few games because of his shoulder injury. He has also been ruled out of the game against the Seattle Seahawks. The QB did play in the game against the Indianapolis Colts. But he had to leave in the middle of the game after taking a hit. Fortunately, he didn’t reinjure his shoulder but still, he wasn’t able to continue playing. 

Watson later talked about this game sharing that he wasn’t ready for the game as he is not fully recovered from his injury. “I thought I was ready,” said Watson. “I wasn’t ready. … I just didn’t have the strength and things like that to be able to go out there and play a full, complete game.”

When asked about his potential return to the NFL, the quarterback mentioned that there is no assurance about his return or when will he fully recover. Watson shared that he will come back when he is completely fit so he can be a valuable asset for the team.

“Right now, we’re not in a space where I should be out there. I’m trying to get to a percentage where I can go out there and be very, very beneficial for the team.”

However, the QB is positive and determined that he will soon make a comeback. He said that he is visiting doctors and trying to reduce the pain and strengthen his body. As soon as he feels like he is completely healthy he will be back in the field.
