Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers, a vocal supporter of Kamala Harris during the recent presidential election, has now called for support for President-elect Donald Trump. Although Rivers had criticized Trump before, he now focuses on unity and the need to support the new president.
Rivers recently referred to Trump’s event on October 28 at Madison Square Garden as “atrocious.” Additionally, he discussed Trump’s “empty promises” in some advertisements for Kamala Harris. However, after the election, Rivers made a statement regarding the outcome, given that Harris did not win.
Doc Rivers blasted the Trump rally at Madison Square Garden last night and urged everyone to vote:

On Wednesday, he said, “Well, I was disappointed in the results, you know? I really was. I’ve known Kamala. This is the most involved I’ve ever been in an election and a lot of it was personal because I’ve known Kamala for over 15 years. I thought she would have been a terrific president.”
He admitted that more than 65 million people disagreed with him, which led to Donald Trump winning. Even though he still doesn’t like Trump, he wants to give him a second chance now that he is president.
He added, “Now Donald Trump is our president and we’re going to have to support him. We want him to do the best job for the country at the end of the day. Did I like that rally? No. Do I like some of the things that he does? No. But now he’s getting a second chance to be a better president than he was the first time and I hope he is.”
Former NBA star reacts to Donald Trump’s win
Former NBA star Matt Barnes has shared his reaction to Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 Presidential Election. Barnes, who has been vocal about his political views in the past, expressed mixed feelings about the outcome.
In a post on Instagram, Barnes congratulated Trump and the Republican Party but admitted that the result was difficult for him to accept. “Congratulations to Donald Trump & the Republican party,” Barnes wrote. “Damn it hurt my soul to say this sh*t…” Sadly, the post is no longer available on his Instagram.
