The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are making strategic moves to fortify their squad for the post-Tom Brady era, with the latest development coming from adding depth to their wide receiver corps by the signing of former Seattle Seahawks receiver David Moore.
The NFL GOAT Brady declared his retirement decision for the second time in February this year and didn’t take a U-turn like the first time. Following the departure of the legendary quarterback, who led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory during his time with the team, the Bucs are actively seeking to ensure a seamless transition and maintain their offensive firepower.
Alongside Moore, the team also signed two undrafted rookies: Charlotte outside linebacker Markees Watts and Delaware safety Kedrick Whitehead to their offseason roster after they proved their worth on tryout contracts during the team’s rookie minicamp as well as waived first-year tackle Dylan Cook and rookie outside linebacker Nelson Mbanasor.

Fox Sports’ Greg Auman took Twitter to disclose that Tampa Bay is signing wide receiver David Moore, a veteran tryout player at the team’s rookie minicamp over the weekend, making him the 90th Bucs on the roster, the preseason limit for the football teams.

The 6-foot, 219-pound receiver, Moore made his appearance in national football in 2017 after getting drafted by the Seattle Seahawks as a seventh-round draft pick and caught 13 touchdown passes for Seattle throughout the 2018, 2019, and 2020 seasons.
The East Central (OK) wide receiver spent time as the Seahawks’ No. 3 receiver behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett and recorded 78 passes for 1,163 yards and 13 touchdowns during his four years tenure with the franchise. After spending the majority of his first year on the practice squad, the former Seattle WR, known for his speed and his occasional ability to turn in a big play, enjoyed a breakout year in 2018 with 26 receptions for 445 yards and five scores.
Following his departure from the Seahawks, the 28-year-old bounced around to the Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears from 2021 onward and couldn’t play for the Bears in 2022 due to a knee injury.
As the Buccaneers gear up for the upcoming season, their commitment to maintaining a strong roster, both in the present and the future, is evident. The addition of David adds depth and experience to their receiving corps, providing valuable support to their new starting quarterback.
