Canelo Alvarez has not yet signed any contract for his upcoming boxing bout. However, David Benavidez and his camp are incredibly eager to offer the Mexican side a lucrative deal.
Benavidez, the undefeated boxer, won all 27 bouts in his professional boxing career. Last year he defeated David Lemieux via third-round TKO to claim the vacant WBC super middleweight title. But by challenging Canelo, “El Bandera Roja” is now aiming high.

The team for David Benavidez has already admitted that they had made Alvarez a $50 million offer. Benavidez’s father also recently spoke with Mill City Boxing about how they are looking into the Canelo fight challenging for his undisputed super middleweight belts.
“We just want the opportunity. We have to prove ourselves first. Pay is not a problem. We will take the minimum. When everyone says ‘payday’, we don’t give a damn about ‘payday’. We care about history.” said Benavidez Sr.
