Robbie Anderson, a wide receiver with the Arizona Cardinals, gained attention this week when he appeared to indicate a bizarre name change.
Anderson posted a screenshot on Instagram of what seems to be a conversation he had with his lawyer, in which the attorney informs Anderson that he has been given a court order to legally alter his nickname.
In addition, Anderson now signs his social media posts with the moniker “Anderson R, Chosen.” As Anderson’s name was formatted to appear to be “Chosen Anderson,” many people assumed he had done it legally.

Anderson, who played for the Cardinals and Panthers last season, switched his name in 2022. He had 20 receptions for 282 yards and one touchdown in 16 games. But, Robby Anderson’s name was altered to Robbie Anderson (not that weird).
Alteration: “Robbie Anderson” is now “Chosen Anderson” (very weird). Maybe Anderson’s inspiration came from Chozen in “The Karate Kid.”
Robbie Anderson’s previous use of the handle @chosen1ra on social media provided some indications. Yet Anderson is becoming an Ochocinco-like diva at wide receiver, with his strange new names and rants on the sidelines.
