Caitlin Clark has conquered the peak the fans were waiting for. She has not only climbed the pinnacle but also done it with style. After a frustrating outing against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Clark had to wait five days more to get the record off the way.
Her playing style has often been compared with that of NBA star Stephen Curry, who was awestruck by her abilities and called her a “total package” earlier. The 6-foot guard made sure the plaudits didn’t stop coming her way with a fitting performance against Michigan.
Caitlin Clark smashes NCAA women’s all-time scoring record
The supremely talented women’s college basketball player Caitlin Clark has finally broken the record to become the leading scorer in NCAA women’s basketball. Kelcey Plum was the former highest scorer who recorded 3,527 points 7 years ago.
The Iowa Hawkeyes star created history in her match with the Michigans. Her hard work paid off when she broke the record of the 2-time WNBA Champion in the first quarter of the game and set a new record of 3,569. There are still games left in the regular season as well as the post-season to break Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 points.
She not only broke the record of Plum but also ended with a career-high 49 points, breaking the record of Megan Gustafson, who had 48 points in a single game.
Her 49 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists helped the Hawkeyes win by 106-89. Clark had the crowd on their feet applauding when the star was leaving the court.

Among the popular names was the NFL great, Tom Brady. A video was shared that had several faces, from Tom Brady to Peyton Manning to Eli Manning. The 7th commissioner of the Big Ten Conference, Tony Petiti, shared his kind words for the athlete. The actors and LA Lakers fans Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were also seen in the video.
There were stars from the hardwood too, participants in the NBA All-Star 2024, Damian Lillard and Trae Young praised her. The tennis legend Billie Jean King also congratulated the 22-year-old. Angel Reese, her on-court rival, wrote on X, “KEEP BREAKING RECORDS & MAKING HER-STORY!”
Clark’s impressive showing this season has attracted a lot of attention from the WNBA as well. Now that she has cemented her place in women’s basketball’s wall of fame, its only a matter of time before she makes the jump to the league where big girls play.
