Chael Sonnen was interviewed at the MMA Awards about his thoughts on UFC 300 and who he thinks could be featured in April’s UFC main event. Without revealing the actual name, he did hint at a UFC star who could be to make a comeback to the UFC octagon, similar to how he previously predicted where Francis Ngannou will be heading after Tyson Fury fight. Sonnen told that his favorite star is ready to take something he lost in the last fight.
According to Sonnen, it will be Israel Adesanya coming back to the lctagon and facing Dricus Du Plessis in the locked cage of UFC 300. The former UFC fighter said, “I believe that the big rush on getting [Du Plessis] and Strickland together is because either Adesanya is coming back… And I do think Adesanya, particularly against Du Plessis, but Adesanya in a rematch with Sean as well, would be very main event-worthy.” Via Sportskeeda.
After defending the UFC middleweight title five times, Adesanya lost the title during his sixth-time defense to Sean Strickland at UFC 293. After that, he announced that he would be taking a long break, which he never did, and he was one of the busiest fighters after being the champion.

White charged up the fans with the statement, “What you can expect is the first prelim of the night; you’re going to go ‘Holy s***! This is the first prelim of the night; this is insane; this isn’t even right. These two shouldn’t be on the first prelim on the night.’ That is how good 300 is going to be.”
