Charles Oliveira brutally roasts Conor McGregor following Irishman’s motivational message

Conor McGregor, the former 2 divisional champ, has been sidelined ever since he injured his leg during his trilogy match against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July of 2021. He was set to make a comeback against fellow lightweight Michael Chandler following TUF 31 but seems to have lost interest in ‘Iron’ somewhere down the line. Therefore the question regarding his comeback opponent remains.

The Dublin superstar has long been in controversy taking jabs at multiple UFC athletes. Recently, following the Justin Gaethje BMF saga he again started hinting at a comeback. A former lightweight champion, however, had some snarky remarks to share in response.

Charles Oliveira jabs at Conor McGregor over in-ring inertness

The two former lightweight champions argued with one another this past Thursday. This started when McGregor took issue with Oliveira’s comment about McGregor’s inactivity. In response to McGregor’s statement that “Fighting is MOTIVATION,” Oliveira pointed out that McGregor last fought in July 2021, during his trilogy encounter against Dustin Poirier and there seems to be no motivation in Conor to step inside the Octagon again.

McGregor was set to take on fellow UFC star Michael Chandler, but there seem to be too many setbacks regarding that match, with all the cards pointing towards a delay caused by the Notorious. They were set to fight in 2023 initially, but Conor has not yet registered himself with the USADA so the possibility of a mega-clash this year, is pretty much non-existent.

McGregor wastes no time clapping back at ‘DoBronx’

McGregor was quick to reply to Olivera in his now-deleted tweets. As a response to the trolling, he called Olivera a ‘broke bum’ and called him out for buying a Lamborghini following his recent success.

‘Mystic Mac’ is often considered the best money fight for any UFC fighter regardless of their star value. Charles knows that he could have the biggest payday of his life should he manage to lure the former champ inside the cage. On the other hand, online war of words is a common place for McGregor, though these verbal spats almost never translate to anything meaningful in real life.
