After a season of underperformance and heartbreaks, Chelsea is looking to turn things around. The London club finished the season in twelfth position in the premier league, their worst in the best parts of three decades. The Chelsea fans were in shock when 42-year-old John Terry announced his homecoming to the club as a part of the academy.
It is fair to say that the London club has been busy in the ongoing transfer window, with the arrivals of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson while also seeing several players leave. The club’s hierarchy decided to recall the Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino back into the Premier League and lead their charge for the next season.
John Terry makes surprising Chelsea comeback
The former Chelsea captain is well respected among the club’s supporters due to his significant contributions to their success. The former England international won five Premier League titles and a Champions League title making him the most successful captain in the club’s illustrious history. In 2018, the English defender started his coaching career as an assistant manager under Dean Smith at Aston Villa.
The former England captain announced his homecoming back to the London club as a part of the youth academy. Upon his arrival, the Englishman shared a tweet, which read “‘I’m delighted to be back Home working in the academy and continuing my role at the club.”
