The Kansas City Chiefs’ final regular-season game against the Las Vegas Raiders produced numerous accomplishments at both the franchise and individual levels.
Kansas City has already won the division title back-to-back seven times and is the top seed in the playoff standings. However, by winning last night, they improved to 14-3 in the league. This indomitable performance is boosted by their key players’ individual best records, like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
Our seventh consecutive divisional title is tied for the second-longest streak in the Super Bowl era 📝

What record has Patrick Mahomes created?
Patrick, the 2019 Super Bowl champion and MVP, has completed 5,250 passes for 5,250 yards, moving him into the top five in passing yards in a single season. Currently, he is positioned in fourth place, surpassing Tom Brady‘s 5,235 yards in 2011. Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos is at the top with 5477 yards.
That’s. Our. Quarterback.

Along with this incredible accomplishment, the 27-year-old quarterback surpassed his previous total yardage (passing yard + rushing yard) of 5,369 set in 2018. Mahomes finished the season with 358 rushing yards and six receiving yards, giving him an all-time record of 5,614 total yards. The previous record was held by Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints (5,562 yards) in 2011.
What record has Travis Kelce created?
The 33-year-old tight end also grabbed a couple of incredible feats for himself. He is now ranked third for most receptions in a season with 110 catches. He would’ve been number one if he had seven more receptions, surpassing Zach Ertz of the Philadelphia Eagles.
He had, however, already set the top receiving yard completion record in 2020 with 1,416 yards. Furthermore, he added another record to the top five by finishing the season with 1,338 receiving yards. He broke his previous record of 1,336 yards set in 2018 and became the only athlete to hold three of the top five records.
With these two players’ individual phenomena, the Chiefs appear to be indestructible this season. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have both accomplished a great deal during their Kansas City careers. It seems, accomplishing feats is something they can do on a daily basis.
Can the Kansas City Chiefs win another ring in the last five seasons now that the entire team is in sync? We have to wait one month to know for sure. Till then, stay tuned with SportsZion.
