A good player not just excels on the court but indeed encourages others through his performance, as the Kansas City Man’s Basketball team indicated in their game on Tuesday. In appreciation for defeating Kansas City, coach Tang paid tribute to quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
By dint of his playing prowess, Patrick has a record of 64-16 in his career. This front-runner for NFL MVP, set a career-high with 5,250 yards passing, 358 yards rushing, and 6 yards receiving and concluded the season as only the second quarterback in NFL history to have multiple 5,000-yard and 40-touchdown seasons.

In the second round of the NCAA Tournament’s East Region during the first weekend of March Madness, another illustrious program was eliminated, as Kansas State defeated Kentucky 75-69 in a matchup of Wildcats to advance to the Sweet 16.
The third-seeded Wildcats narrowly defeated Oscar Tshiebwe and Kentucky, 75-69, with the help of point guard Markquis Nowell, and scored many key 3-pointers and led the team with 27 points. Desi Sills and Nae’Qwan Tomlin each scored 12 points, while Keyontae Johnson contributed 13 points.
The Wildcats hope to continue their surprise NCAA Tournament run in the East’s open conference. Certainly, Kansas City gave it their all in that game, and they pose a serious threat to every competitive club in this tournament.
When questioned about the clever inbounds play after the game, first-year Wildcats coach Jerome Tang acknowledged that there were two elements that motivated his squad to be successful. First up was Tang’s tenure at Baylor, he spent nearly 20 years as an assistant. He remembered the name of a brilliant quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, as he talked about the second influential factor, claiming that this quarterback’s superior play has been instrumental in inspiring his team.
“Yeah, well we stole it from somebody else, but yeah. We actually call it ‘Mahomes’ for Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Super Bowl champion,” Tang explained.

Mahomes and Kansas City are similar to a tight knot that can make any impossible happen, considering Mahomes won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs in both 2020 (Super Bowl LIV) and 2023. (Super Bowl LVII). This season, Mahomes leads the NFL in QBR, just as he did four years ago on his way to MVP recognition.
