Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman missed the last nine games of the 2022–2023 regular season due to an abdomen issue he sustained before the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on November, 2022.
Since then, the WR had been on the injured reserve list until the game against the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship. However, it made his injury turn into a worse situation, and he left the field due to an aggravated abdominal issue. He wasn’t featured in the Super Bowl, either.
With the worsening condition of the injury, Mécole had to undergo thorough treatment, which he shared on Twitter with the fans.
What is the recent update on the Mecole Hardman injury?
The 24-year-old WR shared his situation yesterday with a photo of himself in the hospital preparing for surgery. he also wrote in the caption, “Time for surgery 🙏🏾”

The Chiefs acquired the professional with the 56th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. Since then, he has earned two Super Bowl rings and one Pro Bowl honor in his rookie season for the franchise. He previously played for the Georgia Bulldogs football team in college.
Later, NFL insider Tom Pelissero shared the update on Surgey in a tweet, writing, “#Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman had successful groin repair surgery with Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia this morning, per source. It cleared up the issue he was dealing with this past season. An intriguing free agent-to-be.”

This was the last season of his initial 4-year contract of $4,995,052 with the franchise. If the player becomes fully fit and healthy, he would be an exciting signing for the franchise’s 2023 season. Regardless, we at SportsZion wishes a quick healthy recovery.
