AEW Revolution 2025, which happened on Sunday, March 9, became one of the most exciting and violent shows in AEW history. Besides the violence, the title match between Jon Moxley and Adam Copeland ended with a lot of drama.
The most dramatic title match of the night saw Christian Cage join the main event between Jon Moxley and Adam Copeland, turning it into a three-way battle for the championship. Christian Cage had been waiting for the right moment to cash in after earning his title shot by winning the Casino Gauntlet at All In 2024.
The match continued for a while, with Cope hitting a spear through the ropes on Moxley, sending them both outside the ring. Moxley then slammed Cope into the steel ring steps.
The referee’s knockout escalated the drama by leaving no one to control the match. Despite this, Copeland hit Moxley with a spear and got a close two-count.
What the fuck was this main event. Christian Cage cashed in and I’m thinking “he’s gonna successfully cash in. And we’re gonna get a feud between himself and Adam Copeland.”

I guess not. So you wasted that cash in for nothing, and Jon Moxley retains..

Then, Christian Cage pulled the referee, Bryce Remsburg, out of the ring as Copeland was about to win. He then cashed in his contract and hit Copeland with a briefcase.
Cage then cashed in his contract, hitting Cope in the head with a briefcase. The incident turned the fight into a three-way match. After several near finishes, including a Killswitch on Cope by Cage, Jon Moxley kept his AEW World Title by locking in a bulldog choke on Cage, making him pass out.
The match ended with Moxley still standing tall as the champion, proving once again how dominant he has become in AEW.
Who will Jon Moxley face next?
The outcome of the match has made fans and professionals question Christian Cage’s hopes of winning the title. However, the focus now shifted to Jon Moxley’s next opponent when he successfully defended his championship.
Swerve Strickland takes out Jon Moxley. Just crown him AEW World Champion already #AEWRevolution pic.twitter.com/9S1ik960VK

It looks like it will be Swerve Strickland, who interrupted Moxley’s celebration. He jumped off the guardrail and hit Moxley with a Swerve Stomp. Swerve earned his title shot by beating Ricochet earlier. The AEW World Title race is now even more exciting and full of surprises.
