As the NBA season approaches, Los Angeles Clippers star power forward Kawhi Leonard has provided an encouraging update on his injury status. Leonard, who has been diligently working on his recovery, shared honest insights into his health and readiness for the upcoming season.
Kawhi Leonard has been out since Game 3 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Mavericks, where he struggled with just 9 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Knee swelling forced him to pull out, causing him to miss the remainder of the playoffs and the 2024 Olympics.
During halftime of the Clippers’ preseason game against the Warriors, Leonard spoke about his health, saying, “I feel good…We’re just taking it slow, day by day, and just trying to get me back on the floor. Once those conversations come, we’ll see what they’re talking about.”
Since he is still focused on getting his knee back in shape, Leonard could only do strength workouts at the Clippers’ training camp in Hawaii. Despite not engaging in full drills, Leonard’s presence and dedication have been a positive influence on the team.
Clippers edged out by Warriors in preseason opener
The Warriors and Clippers played their first practice game in Hawaii. James Harden played well for the Clippers, and Steph Curry led the Warriors. It was an exciting game that was close until the very end, even though Andrew Wiggins and Kawhi Leonard couldn’t play because of their injury concerns.
The Warriors won by just one point, 91-90, thanks to a last-second shot by Lindy Waters III. Although they had trouble making shots, their defense was strong. They made 21 mistakes and stole the ball 14 times.
