Cody Rhodes Parallels His Unique WWE Journey To Iconic TV Drama Series

The greatest story in wrestling at the beginning of 2024 was Cody Rhodes’ journey to the top of WWE and his encounters against The Bloodline. The twists and turns hooked fans, who called it more cinema than wrestling. Recently, Rhodes even compared his journey to a famous 18+ TV series.

Cody Rhodes’ story has felt very real since he came back to WWE. He wants to win the WWE title at WrestleMania XL more than anything else. It was a feat his father had never achieved. And when he became the WWE Universal Champion, the WWE universe witnessed history

Cody recently talked about his story on Good Karma Wrestling and how it was like the hit TV show “Game of Thrones.” He talked about how the themes of authenticity, mystery, and familial power run through both stories.

He said, “ It’s a very long form going from 1977-78 with Dusty and Superstar (Billy Graham), and the WWF Championship. It’s a very long tale that is incredibly real in a world where we suspended disbelief. If anything, it feels almost like Game of Thrones in wrestling.”

As Rhodes continues his journey in the WWE, it will be interesting to see how his story unfolds and whether it can truly rival the epic narratives of iconic television dramas like “Game of Thrones.”

Rikishi’s take on Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns’ alliance

The biggest story in WWE right now is the unexpected alliance between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. Both of them signed a contract to form their own team, aiming to destroy the newly formed Bloodline at the Bad Blood event.

This surprised all the fans, as these two rivals from WrestleMania 40 have joined forces. Even Solo Sikoa’s father, Rikishi, shared his thoughts, expressing worry about his role in The Bloodline after this shocking partnership.

On the latest episode of the Off The Top podcast, WWE Hall of Famer said, “I’d probably be upset because here I am been working with The Bloodline and then all of a sudden, ‘Boom! Here comes The OTC back and put together with the man of the company Cody Rhodes. Now, we’re kind of like we’re out the picture. So yeah, I think that hurts my pocketbook.”
