Cody Rhodes, considered one of the greatest wrestlers in the industry, has garnered immense fan support through his journey since his debut in 2006. Experiencing both highs and lows in his career, Rhodes notably feuded with D-Generation X, led by Triple H and Shawn Michaels, during the initial stages.
Reflecting on his early days, Rhodes recalled an incident where Triple H tricked him into participating in a prank, resulting in an embarrassing moment broadcasted to an international audience.

Cody Rhodes recalled an embarrassing moment he had to face due a prank that Triple H pulled on him. Rhodes shared this funny story with Inside the Ropes, during an interview on 2016. The channel shared a clip on may 2022, that tells how during a WWE tour in Dublin, Ireland, he got bathed with spray paint after a prank from The Game.
At that time Ted DiBiase Jr. teamed up with The American Nighmare and Randy Orton to form the Legacy faction. The faction was lead by ‘The Viper’ and had a rivalry with D-Generation X. While he reminiscing the incident he said that he was 22 or 23 at that time and it was the first night of “DX Legacy Tour”, and just before he made his way into the ring, Triple H aka Hunter Hearst Helmsley shared an idea with him.
Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr. were set to make the first entrance during their match at the live show. Hunter shared the plan that, upon reaching the ramp, they should rip a DX banner with spray paint on it. Unaware of the setup, Cody followed through, and the still-wet spray paint stained him. Recalling the humiliating incident, he mentioned that Triple H and Shawn Michaels laughed at him throughout their entire match.

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels is one of the most influential superstars in the company. Be it fans or fellow wrestlers, everyone loves the heartbreak kid. Cody Rhodes during his interview, claimed Michaels as the “greatest ever”, which shows just how much admiration Shawn receives from others.
Michaels, a four-time world champion, held WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship once and the WWF(World Wrestling Federation) Championship three times. Shawn also won the Royal Rumble match 2 times during his run as a wrestler for the company.
Later, he signed to WWE as the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative and he also oversees the creative aspects of the NXT brand. He is now the overseer of all the new talents within the company and decides who is qualified to make it to the main roster.
