Becoming a part of the Premier League in 2020 Palmer has achieved a lot with his club and improved as a player. After being in the club for so many years he was still only used as a substitute but things will improve with his move to Chelsea.
Chelsea lost their main midfielder to an injury and they desperately needed a midfielder that could take his place. Chelsea got their eyes on Cole Palmer and the club got him to move from Etihad to Stamford Bridge.
The player signed a contract of 7 years for £42.5 million with an option to extend it by a year. The club has high hopes for him as he has some experience in the Premier League. Fans eagerly wait to see the new recruit perform in the upcoming games.
Chelsea shatters £1billion spending on players under Todd Boehly
Chelsea already spent £600 million in the last transfer window and with the transfer of Cole Plamer their expenditures in this transfer window have crossed £400 million. In total, the club has spent more than £1 billion on signing players. The Blues are dedicated to creating a strong roster that has the best talent from all across the world and they are not scared to pay the price.
- Since Todd Boehly took charge Chelsea has spent more than the entire La Liga transfers which is £736 million. The club’s ability to spend such a large amount of money while staying under financial fair play rules can be explained through the process of amortization where players are signed for long periods of time reducing their annual cost. This smart approach has helped Chelsea break so many records.
All that is left to see is whether these new signings including the latest recruit Cole Palmer can help the club achieve greatness.
