Conor McGregor was not impressed with Canelo Alvarez’s last fight against John Ryder. The Mexican boxer dominantly won this matchup via unanimous decision in front of his home crowd. However, The Notorious pointed out in a video that there are holes in Saul’s game and claimed that the Mexican is not at the same level he once was.
While having a conversation with boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, the Irishman also explained how he would defeat Canelo if they ever squared off inside the boxing ring. “I’m a southpaw, Ryder was a southpaw, Billie Joe [Saunders] was a southpaw. I’ve seen methods, I’ve seen things I’d do and I know he’s waning. I’d fight Canelo no f****** problem. No problem. That’s done.”
Canelo Alvarez responds to the Conor McGregor challenge
Last week Conor McGregor teased his return to boxing next year while speaking to Canelo’s promoter Eddie Hearn. The Irishman made a bold claim that he has the blueprint to defeat Saul. Many fans around the combat sports world were shocked by Conor’s claims as Canelo is still considered one of the greatest boxers in the world and seems to be in great form.
This callout created a lot of buzz on social media and to add fuel to the fire, Canelo Alvarez himself posted a cryptic message online, “I’d beat him with one hand.” It is safe to say that the Mexican champion responded to McGregor’s call out and claims. Unlike the Notorious, Saul was short and simple with his words.
Conor McGregor claps back at Canelo’s response
Conor is not the sharp fighter he once was. But when it comes to online arguments, the Irish fighter usually doesn’t back down. So when Alvarez clapped back at him, the Irish didn’t take the jaabs silently.
The Notorious offered his response on Twitter and brutally insulted the undisputed super middleweight champion. “Canelo you little ginger sausage. I’d beat you with NO HANDS. Don’t forget,” said Conor on his social media handle.

The Irishman quickly deleted that Tweet. But of course, necessary screenshots were taken beforehand. However, for anyone excited to actually see the combat sports legends collide, we have bad news.
If McGregor was to actually fight all the people he got in online arguments with then he would probably be fighting twice or thrice a month! So the argument with Canelo is just another day at the office for the ‘Mystic Mac’.
