Conor McGregor brutally threatens to ‘end’ Tony Ferguson ‘badly’ while avoiding Michael Chandler fight

Conor McGregor who was last seen coaching in the ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ against Michael Chandler has now set his sights on Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson. Both Ferguson and McGregor are on losing streaks.

McGregor has last his last two bouts against Dustin “The Diamond Poirier” whilst Ferguson is on a 6 fight-losing streak. The Irishman has been nursing a broken leg injury for the past two years. Ferguson is not the same Boogeyman he once was after the brutal loss to Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight championship.

Conor McGregor sends stern warning to Tony Ferguson

McGregor took it to X, formerly Twitter, to remind Ferguson that he has not forgotten about their animosity. McGregor posted, “I’m gonna end you and badly. I’ve not forgot.” remarking on the post that Ferguson made. Ferguson and McGregor were represented by the same management firm of which the Irishman is a part owner. This creates a conflict of interest scenario and Ferguson vowed to take it up to court.

Tony Ferguson’s best days are behind him. He was thoroughly outclassed by Bobby Green in his previous bout. Green submitted Ferguson in the 3rd round of their fight. McGregor on the other hand is to face Michael Chandler in early 2024 according to Dana White. Some sections of the MMA community have seen the Tony Ferguson move of McGregor to be cowardly. Chandler and Ferguson are miles apart right now when it comes to MMA.

With USADA regulations forcing McGregor out of competition, the Irishman continues to troll fellow UFC fighters. He recently took it to X to badmouth Brad Tavares who defeated Chris Weidman at UFC 292. He was also seen congratulating Ian Garry and Sean O’Malley.

UFC community calls out Conor McGregor for avoiding Michael Chandler fight

After McGregor posted on X of his intention to fight Tony Ferguson, the UFC community reacted to the move to be weak. Fighting Michael Chandler after two years of recuperating from a broken leg injury is very tough. If Chandler fights smartly, McGregor might lose very badly. The Irishman is known for tantrums to get inside the head of opponents.

However, the UFC community heavily criticizes McGregor beneath his X post. Some were empathetic of the former double champions’ injured leg. Others however blasted the Irishman for juicing up and avoiding the Michael Chandler fight. Chandler like McGregor is one of the most explosive fighters in the UFC right now. With the Irishman absent for two years, Chandler has taken up the role of the most fan-friendly fighter.

Dana White has insinuated that the proposed fight between the TUF 31 coaches would most likely fight in early 2024. McGregor too confirmed it on X audio notes. The only thing blocking the fight is USADA. The stringent anti-doping agency is not known to be lenient but McGregor is an anomaly.
