Conor McGregor was recently observed in a scuffle with rapper MGK at the MTV VMAs in 2021. The two were on the red carpet at Barclays Center in Brooklyn during the MTV Video Music Awards when the situation escalated.
Even in videos, McGregor could be seen lunging at the rapper, who was restrained by security and his girlfriend, actress Megan Fox. While the altercation subsided and McGregor was escorted away, he was observed throwing a cocktail towards MGK.

It was unclear what started the incident as there are various sources that tell us varying things. TMZ reported that McGregor walked up to Kelly to say hello. Kelly said something inaudible and then Kelly’s security attempted to push McGregor away. The Irishman took umbrage with that, per TMZ, and that’s when the situation escalated.

An initial TMZ report stated that McGregor asked Kelly for a photo and Kelly declined, which McGregor’s spokesperson, Karen Kessler, denied in a statement to ESPN. “Conor McGregor did not ask anyone for a picture, nor did he instigate this incident,” Kessler wrote in the statement.
“He does not know Machine Gun Kelly, outside of the fact that he attended Conor’s fight this past July,” Kessler added. McGregor, however, downplayed the whole situation and in a later interview said he just “showed up” and didn’t know what happened.
“Nothing happened with me,” McGregor said. “I only fight real fighters. People that actually fight. I certainly don’t fight little Vanilla Ice white rappers. I don’t even know the guy, don’t know anything about him except that he’s with Megan Fox.”

When MGK was later asked about the incident in a red-carpet interview, he made a noise with his mouth, hit the microphone with his hand, and walked away. The drama between the two garnered a lot of attention, and we know for a fact that McGregor is not necessarily innocent when it comes to drama.

Megan Fox, the actress, has always been a big fan of the UFC, attending several events and making statements about her immense love for the sport. She even attended the iconic duel between Khabib and McGregor at UFC 229, reportedly fangirling over McGregor before.
The rapper and Megan have already had several dates at UFC events, making it a favorite pastime for the couple. She has been very vocal about her love for the sport, and if there’s a major event, there’s a very good chance she will be there.
