The MMA world is buzzing with news of Conor McGregor facing a civil assault case. Though he was previously investigated in Ireland for similar claims, no charges were filed. Now, the court found McGregor guilty and ordered him to pay a substantial fine.
On Friday, Conor McGregor was ordered to pay nearly 250,000 Euros ($257,000) to Nikita Hand after finding him liable for assault. The verdict comes after Hand accused Conor for “brutally raping and battering” her in a Dublin hotel penthouse on December 9, 2018.
Hand testified that the assault left her heavily bruised and suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. But McGregor denied the allegations, claiming that the encounter was consensual and Hand fabricated the story. His lawyer labeled Hand a gold digger during the trial.
The jury, made up of eight women and four men, took six hours to decide. Ultimately, Dublin’s High Court verdict left him looking upset and hanging his head. His partner, Dee Devlin, was with him, along with his family.

So let’s get this right if you are a famous bell of the end you can rape a woman and just pay a fine?
No prison sentence, well that’s messed up.
Post a hurty word meme though and bang 2 years behind bars.

When Conor McGregor left the court, cameras surrounded him, but he didn’t say anything. Later, he posted on X, saying he plans to appeal the decision and the “modest award.”
Overwhelmed by the support she received, Nikita Hand told reporters, “I want to show [my daughter] Freya and every other young girl and boy that you can stand up for yourself if something happens to you, no matter who the person is, and that justice will be served.”

Hand also brought a case against another man, James Lawrence. She alleged that Lawrence assaulted her by having sex with her without her consent in the Beacon Hotel. The jury found that Lawrence did not assault her.
