Conor McGregor has shared a heartfelt video on Instagram showing his first Featherweight Championship victory in Cage Warriors.
Conor McGregor is arguably the biggest name in the UFC. The Irishman man is a former two-division champion. Apart from is fighting prowess, Conor is also known his hard, fast trash-talking. Very few people are able to compete with Conor with a mic. It isn’t just about being famous, though. Conor is one of the highest paid athletes in the world. Fighters know that a fight against Conor will make them rich. As a result, Conor is often called out.
But the 33-year old did not have it smooth all the time. He has shared his story multiple times, stating how hard work has brought him to where he is today. The rise to stardom began in Cage Warriors. There, he won his first ever championship, and became the first Irish man ever win a title in Cage Warriors.
Conor has posted a video of his title win on Instagram. In the video he appears very emotional, running into the crowd after getting a submission victory.
Since then, Conor has risen to the top in quite the explosive manner. His name has become synonymous with the fight game, and in particular the UFC.
He has, however, lost his last two fights to Dustin Poirier. He is 2-1 against Poirier, and a fourth fight could well happen. Conor seems to be a shadow of his former self. He does not seem to be as clinical and as lethal as before. Fans of the former champ will be hoping that his return to the UFC will be as explosive as his fights.
