Cowboys’ VP hails NFL Draft pick ex-Kansas State RB Deuce Vaughn’s explosive abilities: “A hell of a football player”

The Vice President of the Dallas Cowboys gushed about the team’s selection of former Kansas State running back, Deuce Vaughn, during the NFL Draft and cited excitement for the young star managing to find his way onto Dallas’ roster.

The Cowboys were looking forward to adding a promising RB in the NFL Draft and their search mission ended successfully by drafting the Cowboys’ assistant director of college scouting Chris Vaughn’s son Deuce in the sixth round. Well! The heartfelt video of Chris hearing his son’s name made all the fans go teary.

Before being drafted by Dallas, the 21-year-old shared his feelings about getting picked by the Cowboys saying, “It’d almost be like a proud moment to wear the star in there. It would be unreal. I’d definitely relish that opportunity.”

“Unreal” just became real and the father-son duo made every football fan emotional with the big news.

What did Cowboys VP say about the newly drafted RB Deuce Vaughn?

Cowboys personnel boss Will McClay opened up to 105.3 The Fan in Dallas earlier this week with some high praise for their new pick sixth-round RB Deuce Vaughn.

“The No. 1 thing is (we’re) getting a hell of a football player, a guy that can win in space, create their own space, and do explosive things,” he said.

Deuce at the college level is a weapon on the football field as the young star stunned everyone by surpassing 1,000+ receiving yards while averaging 5.5 yards per carry during his college career and McClay seemss very much aware of it.

“Deuce’s done that ever since he’s been in high school. Getting him and adding him as a weapon was a huge deal”, the Cowboys VP added.

The 5-5, 179-pounder grabbed first-team Associated Press All-American honors as an all-purpose player and second-team All-Big 12 Conference accolades as an RB despite being the smallest running back ever measured at the Combine.

Vaughn will join a veteran running back room with some big names like Tony Pollard, Malik Davis, Ronald Jones, and Rico Dowdle, and can prove himself to be a full-time-level back.

McClay also cited optimism about his ability saying “You can run your (regular) offense through him.”

With training camp heading to start soon, Cowboys fans will be eagerly anticipating the chance to witness their new RB in action and see how he can contribute to the team’s success on the field. If he lives up to the hype, he could prove to be a valuable asset for the team in the years to come.
