David Beckham son moves to England following permanent exit from Inter Miami

England will see the return of a Beckham in the country, though not the famous David Beckham. Instead, his son Romeo Beckham will come to play in England.

David Beckham, a former Manchester United and Real Madrid legend, is known as a global icon in football. He is also currently known as the owner of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami. Under Beckham, the club has been growing to new heights. Recently, he helped the club make a historic transfer of Lionel Messi this month.

Following in the footsteps of his father, Romeo Beckham has started to carve a career in football. The 20-year-old was playing in his father’s club for the Inter Miami B team.

David Beckham son Romeo secures Brentford B deal

And now English club Brentford has announced the permanent signing of Romeo Beckham from Inter Milan. He had a great loan spell for the B team last season, after joining the team midway through the season in January.

He signed a one-year contract with the option to renew for one more year. The transfer fee is unknown though it is thought to be a very small compensation fee.

Brentford B team’s head coach Neil MacFarlane talked about the permanent signing of Romeo. In a statement released by the club, the coach said, “We added Romeo to our squad in January and heā€™s been fantastic for the group.”

“Heā€™s had a terrific end to the season in terms of his recent match against Manchester City where he showed what heā€™s learned during his loan with us. Weā€™ve continued to develop him in and out of possession and we look forward to him coming back in good spirits to continue working with him next season.”

It is thought that Romeo chose to stay in England to stay closer to his longtime girlfriend Mia Regan. It is important to note Brentford B does not play in any competitive leagues.

Which position does Romeo play?

Romeo Beckham is known to have played in a lot of positions in his younger days. But he now plays on the right side of the attack, having become very good there. He also plays in the right midfield position when asked to.

Romeo was very important to the team as they lifted the Premier League Cup last season. He featured 15 times for the team and his comeback goal in the Middlesex Senior Cup against National League side Wealdstone is his only goal there.

Romeo Beckham was also proficient for Inter Miami in the MLS Next Pro, where he registered a league-record 10 assists in a single campaign.

Still, he is a long way from emulating the success of his father David Beckham. Nonetheless, the former England captain is proud of his son. Romeo will continue playing for the Bees in the next season and if he works hard enough, who knows he might earn a place in the main Brentford team.

With Romeo Beckham’s permanent signing for Brentford B team, England welcomes the next generation of the Beckham football dynasty. Do you believe he has the potential to reach the same level of success as his father, David Beckham? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
