Grayson Waller has become one of the most prominent figures in WWE since his promotion to the main roster by Triple H. His work in NXT was exceptional, but he elevated it to another level after being drafted to SmackDown.
He has participated in memorable segments with wrestling legends like John Cena, Edge, and Rey Mysterio. He excels in his role as a despised heel, maintaining the kayfabe, and it’s evident as he recently faced backlash for making controversial comments about Taylor Swift.
Grayson Waller challenges Travis Kelce for WM match
Grayson Waller is known for being ever-present on social media and is a great example of how to use it to gain popularity. He doesn’t shy away from making comments that might be deemed troublesome by the WWE management and even referred to CM Punk in a post on X. He received backlash on social media recently due to making comments about Taylor Swift and his boyfriend Travis Kelce.
He even challenged the Kansas City Chiefs player to a match at WrestleMania 40 next year. He was quoted, “I’ve heard Travis Kelce is a wrestling fan, right? Next year we’re in Philly with Mania up there lad, so why don’t you come up and defend your honor? You seem like such a nice guy so why don’t you come up to me and say something about it lad.” The funny thing is that he’d unironically play the role of babyface in the match as they don’t like Travis Kelce in Philadelphia.
Waller’s beef with Swifties
Grayson Waller’s beef with the Swifties has been all over social media over the past few days. Waller made some comments regarding Taylor Swift and called her a ‘6’ on WWE’s On The Bump which caused an outrage among Swifties and filled his DM’s with hate comments. He also labeled the Swifties as ‘mums’ who were all a ‘2’ defending a ‘6’. He also mentioned that he respects Travis for settling for a ‘6’.
After outroar from the Swifties, he responded with a video and was quoted, “I’m sorry that you define yourself by another woman and her accomplishments. It’s kinda sad, to be honest. Now I’ve got all these swamp donkeys in my DMs saying mean things, saying I’m a ‘zero out of ten.’ Leave the roasts to the professionals, go back to trading friendship bracelets like a bunch of four-year-olds.”
It seems like there’s no difference between the character he portrays on television and real life and he’s doing a great job of drawing heat and being the braggadocious superstar which WWE needs. His future is bright in the company and it’s interesting to see where he goes after teaming up with Austin Theory on SmackDown.
Should Grayson Waller and Austin Theory go after the Undisputed Tag Team Titles? Discuss in the comments.
