Jones voices support for Adesanya

Izzy announced that he will take a sabbatical from the UFC but has promised to come back in the future. The last month hasn’t been the best for Israel. First, the former UFC middleweight champion was stripped of his title from Sean Strickland

After some days of losing his title ‘The Last Stylebender’ pleaded guilty to drinking and driving. All of this happening within a short period can take a huge mental toll on an individual. Israel is no different and the break that Adesanya has announced was much needed.

Jones wants Daniel Cormier no contest wiped out

USADA is set to terminate its partnership with the UFC from January 2024. This termination of the agreement has welcomed a variety of reactions from the MMA world, which are directly affected by this decision. Jon Jones shared his thoughts on USADA and UFC on social media.

Jones has not had a simple relationship with the USADA, to say the least. In 2016, Jon Jones was removed from a light heavyweight championship unification bout against Cormier, after testing positive for clomiphene and letrozole. Clomiphene and letrozole are banned substances by the World Anti-Doping Agency as they are classified as hormone and metabolic modulators.

The doping agency later ruled that Jones would receive a one-year suspension for the failed test. Jones later claimed that the result was due to an off-brand sex pill that the USADA was able to independently confirm for contamination.

A year later Jon Jones defeated Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 but the win was again overturned to a no-contest when the pre-fight drug test samples came in positive for the anabolic steroid turinabol.

Jones has a clear history with USADA and upon hearing the news of USADA and UFC parting their ways, Jones went to Twitter to reflect on the past. Jones explained the on-and-off positive drug tests and claimed that he survived USADA.

Jones further said that the no-contest over Daniel Cormier needs to be taken off of his record. Jones concluded his message by saying that he has never cheated in this sport and never will.

Jon Jones claims to have never cheated on the sport but the positive drug tests say otherwise. Jones will be fighting Stipe Miocic at the UFC 295. Tell us in the comments your thoughts Jones’s match against Miocic. Also, tell us your thoughts on Izzy announcing to take a break from the UFC.
