Adesanya reveals hilarious ‘only excuses’ to miss fight

In a recent interview, Eugene Bareman and Israel were talking about the work ethics that goes into each and every fighter who practices in ‘City Kickboxing’. Eugene spoke about how much effort and time the trainers put into all of their champions. Adesanya also revealed how he was on the brink of seriously damaging his foot in the last fight but he pushed through by utter perseverance.

Adesanya stated how the “only excuses” to ever miss a training session or a fight is when someone is having a baby or when they are getting married. They both had a hearty laugh but Eugene, the head coach of ‘City Kickboxing’, further elaborated that this is “just what has to happen in the industry”.

Thus, it was made clear that this was the reason why ‘City Kickboxing’ fighters don’t seem to ever miss any fights. The institute has given rise to prominent champions like Alexander Volkanovski and Israel.

Who will fight Israel Adesanya in UFC 293?

The rivalry between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland has recently picked up the pace after Sean passed comments about Israel’s ethnicity. Going as far as to call the Middleweight Champion a “Chinese”. “The Last Stylebender” replied promptly in his own humorous way by accepting that he is Chinese and that he would “knock him out in the name of China”.

Originally, Adesanya was supposed to fight Dricus Du Plessis in UFC 293. Unfortunately, Du Plessis got a foot injury and that resulted in him pulling back from the card. Thus, Strickland was the best contender to be considered at that point in time and he got the call.

Israel Adesanya will be defending his UFC Middleweight Title against Sean Strickland in UFC 293 in Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia on September 9, 2023.
