Conor McGregor slams Islam Makhachev
In his long-running feud with the Dagestani fighter, The Irishman has taken shots at Khabib and his team on numerous occasions. McGregor has gone as far as calling Khabib a “smelly inbred” and later deleted an allegation that suggested the culture of Khabib’s hometown of Dagestan involves ‘inbreeding’.
Later McGregor also tweeted “When your parents are cousins” firing shots at the Nurmagomedov family. However Islam Makhachev claimed that he would “Smash” The Irishman if they ever met in the octagon. Islam also added “Honestly, I don’t remember when this guy beat someone,” teasing McGregor about the fact that he has not won a fight since 1st round knockout victory over Donald “cowboy” Cerrone.
McGregor, who is eyeing a comeback to the sport after his injury, has responded to Makhachev’s bold claim. He tweeted: “I’ll fight that s***-stain [sic] makchavich, no sweat. Embarrassing g’n’p (ground and pound) the other night in my opinion. Pitiful punching and then bottles the [Rafael dos Anjos] fight after mouthing off him lol.”
McGregor and Islam squared off during massive brawl at UFC 229
Mystic Mac went after at Khabib and all the Dagestani’s after their clash at the UFC 229 event. The post-fight brawl is one of the most viewed and replayed clips in UFC history. Normally, after a fight, there is mutual respect between opponents, but the brawl showed that not only was there no respect, but the beef is “Not Over.” Here we are, five years later, with Conor McGregor still criticizing the Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev.
“Dead rats in the swamp” Conor McGregor responds to a fan tweet about the Infamous post fight brawl saying “5 years ago Conor ended UFC 229 with the last blow to his big head brother”.
The former double champ’s remarks refer to one of Nurmagomedov’s cornermen, who made his way into the cage to attack Conor McGregor, only for the Irishman to land the last blow of the brawl before security re-established order.
