The re-elected French President Emmanuel Macron made a bold move by influencing the star striker Kylian Mbappe who initially decided to move away from Paris but eventually made up his mind to stay in the French Capital.
Since the beginning of the last season, Mbappe was linked to the Madrid giant Real Madrid for a potential world-record move. It was PSG’s strategy at first to allure him to stay at the club by signing Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona. Kylian eventually get convinced by seeing an opportunity to play alongside Messi and Neymar.
President Macron has a great association with French Football Federation and with Kylian Mbappe especially. According to different medias, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Mr. Emmanuel Macron both discussed with Kylian for keeping him in France.
On a discussion with the press the French President said, “Telling Mbappé to stay instead of going to Madrid? I just advised Kylian to stay in France. It was in an informative and friendly manner. Defending the country is the role of a president.”

Real Madrid was keen to sign Mbappe who was also excited to play for the reigning European Champion since his childhood. Many football commentators even said that Mbappe and Real Madrid are meant to be. However, the Madrid fanbase was disheartened to hear about Kylian’s new Paris Saint Germain deal.
Many critics of the footballing world commenting that the deal that PSG offered to Kylian Mbappe is too much authority for a soccer player because some terms of that particular deal has given the star striker to influence on the transfer of other players in the club.
Despite criticisms and other statures, French President Macron played a key role in persuading Mbappe and indirectly saving the image of Ligue – 1 by holding arguably the best young striker of the planet.
