John Cena’s tag team with LA Knight versus The Bloodline at WWE Fastlane in Indianapolis drew a fair amount of interest. However, the highlight was undoubtedly the world heavyweight championship defense by Seth Rollins against Shinsuke Nakamura in last night’s main event.

Triple H’s 2016 big signing, Shinsuke Nakamura, competed in a brutal Last Man Standing bout against the Visionary. Triple H praised Nakamura and Rollins for their great match during the Fastlane press conference. He pointed out Nakamura’s rising star status and praised his recent stellar performances.

“This is the Shinsuke Nakamura that I’ve always wanted to see here. The work he’s been doing in the last couple of months with Seth Rollins, it’s a different Shinsuke Nakamura. His energy, his vibe, just seeing him on a day-to-day basis, he’s like a new person. It’s impressive to see and I love it. I hope that he continues to do that and I hope that we can continue that rise. He is a special talent and I want everybody in the world to see just how special he is,” Triple H claimed in the conference about The King.

Seth Rollins beat Shinsuke Nakamura

At Fastlane, the rematch between Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura was a Last Man Standing contest. The feud started after Nakamura admitted to knowing about Rollins’ back issue for a long time. Both wrestlers in the main bout delivered punishing blows. Fastlane was a big event when WWE merged with Endeavor, even though no new world champion was crowned.

Nakamura seemed to be a real danger to Rollins when he challenged him to a fight. After almost 30 minutes of struggle, in which Nakamura repeatedly attacked Rollins’ damaged back, Rollins finally secured his championship with a falcon arrow through two tables. However, Rollins triumphed, likely putting a stop to their competition.

Despite having a narrative ankle injury and having the opportunity to pay in his Money in the Bank contract, Damian Priest waited for the proper time and didn’t cash his briefcase which was a good decision.
