WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair will be absent from wrestling for some time as she suffered a knee injury during her match against Asuka two weeks ago on SmackDown. More specifically, Charlotte suffered a torn ACL, a torn MCL, and a torn meniscus when she fell from the top rope while wrestling Asuka.
However, the 37-year-old wrestling superstar recently made the trip to CMLL at Arena México. Although Flair might not be fit for squared circle actions yet, she was there to support her husband, Andrade El Idolo.
Charlotte Flair walks on crutches to support husband Andrade EI Idolo
In the CMLL match on 12/22, Andrade El Idolo teamed with Espanto Jr. and Brillante Jr. to face Volador Jr., Magnus, and Magia Blanca. A fan who attended the CMLL event at Arena México posted a video of The Queen making her way to the ringside area for her husband’s match. The former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion was seen arriving on crutches to her seats.
The caption for the video read, “Charlotte Flair pulled up to Arena Mexico with one good knee to support Andrade’s second week back with CMLL. ” Despite suffering from a dangerous injury that will keep her away from WWE for nine months, Charlotte personally attended the event to support her husband.
Andrade El Idolo, formerly known as Andrade in WWE, joined AEW after leaving WWE. Charlotte began dating Andrade in February 2019 and announced their engagement nearly a year later in January 2020. In May 2022, both wrestlers officially got married in Mexico after a long time of waiting due to the pandemic.
Charlotte Flair expected to have knee surgery
WWE has announced that Charlotte will be out of action for a period of 9 months due to injury. Although at first glance, the injury did not seem dangerous, in reality, it is severe enough to keep Flair from wrestling for nearly a year. While it was announced that she will be absent for 9 months, predicting the exact recovery period after an ACL tear is challenging.
The Queen may take even more time to fully recover. Charlotte is scheduled for knee surgery in January 2024, and if she heals well, there are chances of seeing her back around October 2024. However, nothing is certain yet, and this date may change depending on Charlotte’s condition.
Fans are disheartened by the fact that Charlotte will miss 2024’s Royal Rumble, WrestleMania and Summer Slam. This is upsetting for true ‘The Queen” fans, as her presence will be missed. WWE universe hopes to see 37-years-old superstar recover soon.
