Detroit Lions’ Jameson Williams Receives Positive Discipline Update on Potential NFL Suspension

Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams was involved in a gun-related incident during a midnight traffic stop in October 2024. Police found two guns—one registered to him and the other to his brother. The problem was that Williams didn’t have a concealed pistol license for his gun.

As a result, there was a chance he could face a major NFL suspension. Initially, there were concerns, but he demonstrated his innocence. So, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy’s office cleared him of all charges in November.

The NFL also had to decide whether or not to punish him. However, good news came for Jameson Williams as the league has now closed the case and will not suspend him.

Reporter Dave Birkett said that Williams will not face any punishment from the NFL in this case. Williams, who has already received a suspension for violating the league’s gambling and performance-enhancing drug rules, is pleased with this news.

Fans react to Jameson Williams escaping NFL discipline

On social media, some Lions fans are happy that Jameson Williams didn’t get suspended by the NFL. They believed he was honest and didn’t hurt anyone, so there was no reason to punish him. The Wayne County Prosecutor also cleared him.

However, some fans think Williams got lucky. They say if it were them in his place, they wouldn’t have been released. Others are upset that the NFL didn’t punish him despite having a terrible past gambling history.
