Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes headlined WrestleMania 39 in what many consider the biggest and most unpredictable match of all time. After the final bell rang, a significant controversy erupted as Roman Reigns emerged from the match as the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion.

During this time period, the two brothers had a Tag Team Title reign where they faced off against The Shield. During this match where Roman and Seth Rollins were representing The Shield, Cody pinned the Big Dog to retain the titles.
This interesting tidbit was never mentioned during their feud in the build-up to WrestleMania 39, but it did amuse the fans on the internet. With the score being 1-1, it’s going to be interesting to see when they’ll have their eventual rematch.
Reigns vs Rhodes teased for potential WrestleMania 40 showdown
The latest episode of SmackDown it was announced that The Tribal Chief will be appearing for the Season Premiere of the blue brand. He interrupted John Cena when he opened the show, where LA Knight was quickly revealed to be his next challenger. As The Bloodline made their way down the ramp after Cody and Jey were exiting the arena, Cody and Roman faced off once again teasing a potential title rematch down the line.
There’s a lot of history between the two men as the WWE Universe was convinced that Cody Rhodes was going to walk out of the ring as the new WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. But the silence when Roman Reigns pinned him after Solo Sikoa’s interference was heard around the world.
There’s still discontentedness among the fans that it was Cody Rhodes’ moment and WWE should have pulled the trigger, but it’s going to be much sweeter when The American Nightmare gets his hand on the WWE Championship which he’s destined to.
