Viacheslav Borshchev and Diego Ferreira put on a terrific performance in their fights against Maheshate and Michael Johnson respectively to win the performance of the night bonus in the recently concluded UFC Vegas 73 event. Both the lightweights completely annihilated their opponents and subsequently, they walked away with a $50k bonus for their efforts.

How did the fight between Viacheslav Borshchev and Maheshate play out?
Speaking about their fights, Slava Claus kicked off the UFC Vegas 73: Dern vs Hill event in a three-round bout against Maheshate. Leading into this matchup, both Borschev and Maheshate were coming off one-sided losses. Hence it was important for them to put on a great show in order to stay afloat in the UFC.
As soon as the fight started, Viacheslav attacked his opponent with leg kicks and gained an upper hand in the striking department. He significantly out-landed Maheshate in strikes and was extremely dominant throughout the opening round.

It was a similar story in the second round as the Russian was getting the better of his opponent in the striking exchanges and had him severely hurt. Subsequently, Slava Claus decided to step up the ante and landed a beautiful combination of punches to drop Hayisaer. Thereafter he landed a barrage of strikes to finish Maheshate.
Diego Ferreira brutally knocks out Michael Johnson at UFC Vegas 73
The main card of UFC Vegas 73 was filled with violence and comprised several knockouts. However, Diego Ferreira stole the show with his splendid knockout against Michael Johnson at the UFC Fight Night event and deservingly won the Performance of the Night award. Going into this fight, Diego was going through a bad slump as he failed to get a win in his last three bouts.

Consequently, no one was expecting The Menace to knock out Michael Johnson as the latter was coming off a brilliant win in his last fight. Speaking of which, until the finish, it was a very close fight as both the lightweights were trading on the feet. It seemed that Johnson was slightly better in the first round.
However, Diego Ferreira produced a stunning right overhand which put Michael Johnson to sleep in freak fashion. The Menace made a statement to the lightweight division and snapped his losing streak with this big win at UFC Vegas 73. It would be interesting to see whether he manages to carry on the form in his future fights and it is needless to say that fans will be expecting more knockouts from the UFC veteran.
