The Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving stunned the franchise and the whole NBA world with a sudden, unexpected trade request and the urge to make it happen before the February 9 deadline.
With Kevin Durant’s injury and Kyrie Irving’s previous suspension due to his controversial anti-Semitic stance, the Nets are restrained from being at the top of the Eastern Conference. They are now the fourth seed in the conference with a 31-20 record.
After escaping the negative attention of netizens, fans, and authorities, the point guard appears to be finding his groove. But this trade request clearly indicates something was off.

What did Kyrie Irving say regarding the trade request?
The 30-year-old star is rumored to be reuniting with LeBron James at the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Lakers appeared to be interested in acquiring him as well. Furthermore, King James tweeted a cryptic message on his Twitter account.

However, the Nets seem reluctant to let a superstar like Irving go, and the eight-time NBA all-star posted another cryptic tweet saying, “Distance yourself from the folks who manipulate, hate, and hurt.”
To my Peers: JUST BE YOURSelf and GROW!
Keep people around who CELEBRATE YOU unconditionally and appreciates all of the hard work that gets put in.Distance yourself from the folks who manipulate, hate, and hurt.

“To my Peers: JUST BE YOURSelf and GROW! Keep people around who CELEBRATE YOU unconditionally and appreciates all of the hard work that gets put in,” Kyrie also wrote. The tweet might indicate the player’s take on the franchise’s stand on his trade request.
Kyrie’s record with the Nets is quite decent, as he won a three-time NBA All-Star medal and was inducted into the prestigious Elite 50–40–90 Club in his three years with the franchise.
Following LeBron’s and Irving’s tweets, the Lakers and Nets may be more motivated to reach a trade agreement. If they are unable to complete the trade by the deadline, the 2016 NBA champion will become a free agent at the end of the season.
