The Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert had his best career year during the 2023 season as he led the league in rushing touchdowns and earned his first Pro Bowl nod. Mostert is often considered one of the most crucial parts of the Dolphins’ offense, and it seems the team has done him justice this time around.
When the free agency began there were doubts about the RB continuing with the Dolphins. However, the franchise has decided to give him a much-deserved contract extension.
Raheem Mostert officially agrees to Dolphins contract extension
Recently it was reported that Raheem Mostert has agreed to a contract extension with the Miami Dolphins. He will be playing with the team for the 2025 season as well, according to his agent, Brett Tessler.
Mostert had the best season of his career in 2023, rushing for a career-high 1,012 yards with a Dolphins franchise record 21 total touchdowns, three more than receiver Mark Clayton in 1984. The RB’s new contract is worth up to $9.075 million, a lucrative sum that justifies the skill set he brings to the table.
HC Mike McDaniel always focused on improving the offense of the team emphasizing there’s a need for speed. This is one of the major reasons why the team decided to continue with Mostert who brings the needed speed to the offense of the Dolphins.
This deal is also beneficial for the Dolphins as it will give Raheem Mostert more time to mentor Devon Achane. Achane is a fellow RB of Mostert who will be entering his sophomore year in 2024 with injury issues from his rookie year. Getting to learn from Mostert will make him another talented RB on the Dolphins roster.
Raheem Mostert is also happy about this new extension evident by how he talked about his new deal with his fans.
