Rihanna’s Super Bowl comeback got mixed comments from fans on Sunday, but it was former US President Donald Trump’s criticism that drew the most attention. He termed her 15-minute half-time performance as an “epic fail” and the “worst halftime show” in the sports event’s history.

Trump also took issue with the Barbados-born singer’s all-red attire, which included a figure-hugging bustier that revealed her protruding tummy and an oversized boiler suit, on his own social media network Truth Social.
Rihanna’s agent later verified what everyone had suspected at the opening of the show: she is expecting her second child. But the self-styled politician isn’t buying it.
“EPIC FAIL: Rihanna gave, without question, the single worst halftime show in Super Bowl history. This after insulting far more than half of our nation, which is already in serious DECLINE, with her foul and insulting language. Also so much for her ‘stylist!’” Trump told his nearly five million followers.
In August 2020, US media claimed that Trump attacked Rihanna on the same site by posting the post of Texas congressman Ronny Jackson, who stated the Grammy-winning singer shouldn’t be allowed by the National Football League to play at the Super Bowl because she was “spewing degenerate filth”.
Trump agreed, writing that “Without her ‘stylist’ she’d be NOTHING. Bad everything, and NO TALENT!”
While the multibillionaire musician and business tycoon did not reply to Trump or Jackson at the time, she was a vocal opponent of the former President, whom she famously referred to as “the most mentally ill human being in America” in an interview with Vogue magazine. She also slammed Trump on social media for his stance on gun control and immigration.
Rihanna went to the famous Cadillac Ranch in Texas in 2020 to perform her act of political protest. The singer captioned a picture of her graffiti, ‘Art,’ on Instagram. Trump supporters later covered the message with black paint.
That wasn’t the first time that RiRi tackled Trump. When she realized that her song had been played at a MAGA rally in 2018, she wrote, ‘Not for much longer… I nor my people would ever attend or be near one of those awful gatherings.’
It’s no secret that Trump has got a problem with Rihanna and everything she does. The former US present has made his hatred evident from time to time. So this one shouldn’t come as a surprise to Rihanna as well. Truth is, reviews for Rihanna’s show were mixed, but Trump’s assessment clearly has little to do with what went down above the field.
