Donald Trump Finally Extends White House Invitation to Kansas City Chiefs

The Super Bowl 59 champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, are set to visit the White House on April 28 as deserving Super Bowl winners. However, recently, Donald Trump extended his invitation to the Chiefs as well, which has generated mixed reactions across the internet.

A few days ago, it was reported that Trump was planning to invite the team to honor their Super Bowl LIV victory from 2020. Swifties, however, were a bit worried because of Taylor Swift’s past relationship with Trump. It’s worth mentioning that Taylor Swift is closely connected to the team through her relationship with Travis Kelce.

Now, those reports seem to be true, as Trump personally confirmed to Outkick, saying, “I look forward to having the Eagles. And one other thing, we’re going to have the Kansas City Chiefs after that, because they missed their turn because of COVID.”

Trump has always been a big fan of the Kansas City and even supported them as the possible champions in the Super Bowl. Because of his admiration for the team, it’s easy to see why he wants to invite them to the White House.

However, his decision has received mixed reactions from the NFL community.

Trump faces backlash over his decision to invite the Chiefs

Despite Trump’s explanation, critics like Boyle argue the invitation seems to downplay the Eagles’ Super Bowl win. Boyle said, “Trump backed the Chiefs this year. They lost badly to the Eagles, and now he’s throwing a fake celebration to cope.”

They had already visited the White House under President Biden in the last two years following their back-to-back Super Bowl wins. Since Trump hasn’t sent an invitation yet and they haven’t commented, critics’ reactions are premature. It’s better to wait for confirmation before judging.
