The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest took a brutal turn on last week’s episode of SmackDown. While everyone thought it was just another part of the storyline, it was later revealed that the Scottish Warrior suffered a legitimate eye injury, forcing him to wear an eye patch.
During a backstage brawl with Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre suffered an unexpected injury. In a heated exchange, McIntyre was slammed onto a car windshield. While WWE superstars often go through intense moments involving glass, announcer tables, and steel chairs, these are usually scripted. However, this time, it seemed Priest’s chokeslam on the 39-year-old was all too real.
After the incident, McIntyre revealed that “real glass” had gotten into his eye. Later reports confirmed that McIntyre had suffered a genuine eye injury. Not long after, he was spotted wearing an eye patch in a recent appearance.

However, WWE medical staff later clarified that while McIntyre did receive treatment for an object in his eye, it was not glass. But in a video posted on WWE UK’s account, McIntyre proudly showed off his new eye patch while promoting a special edition Rangers championship.
Drew McIntyre calls out young fan on social media
Drew McIntyre is currently one of WWE’s biggest villains. During a recent episode of SmackDown, a young fan in the crowd stole the spotlight by flashing a middle finger behind McIntyre’s back. The moment was caught on camera, and even former WWE champions took notice.
Fair play.

This little twat has absolutely mugged me off. Hate recognises hate. https://t.co/eFKO7tag35
McIntyre didn’t let it slide and fired off a bold tweet about the incident. He wrote, “Fair play. This little twat absolutely mugged me off.” While his words weren’t exactly PG, McIntyre couldn’t help but respect the kid’s guts. He even added, “Hate recognizes hate.”
