Besides the excitement of high-voltage games, the event took a memorable detour from the racetrack following the Buffalo Bills quarterback NFL quarterback Josh Allen having a heartfelt moment with Formula 1 star Daniel Ricciardo during a live broadcast.

Ricciardo appeared at the Canadian GP today while a serendipitous encounter between him and Allen took place, albeit the Bills QB was there to join him and the F1 driver was completely unaware of the plan.
The Italian-Australian driver, known for his infectious smile and positive demeanor both on and off the track, sat there open-mouthed after the football star joined him and started waving his hand in immense pleasure.

He came out of his instant surprise and voiced his excitement saying, “No way, Joshua, what’s going on? You know what, even if we can’t hear you, I don’t mind, we can see you, you look great.”
The history of Ricciardo and Allen’s friendship
Daniel became a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan over the years and even appeared at the Bills stadium for one of their home games, however, how did his friendship with Josh develop initially remains a question. Well, he shed light on the topic in 2021, revealing the exact history behind the friendship bond between the two sports worlds.
The Honey Badger said his performance manager, Michael, had a Bills jersey and they were discussing it.
“My performance coach, Michael, actually had a Bills jersey and yeah, when we met Josh he was like alright, ‘Sold!’.”
The Aussie racer said he met Buffalo’s Mafia QB for the first time at the 2019 Monaco. He noted finding similarities between Allen and his friends back home and compared the friendship with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s Step Brothers movie.

“And I mean the Bills Mafia really reminds me of a lot of my friends back home. I could definitely see I’d fit right into the Bills Mafia. It’s been like step brothers. Somehow, we just became best friends. Just a flick of a finger. No, it was Monaco, right? Monaco 2019?”
The NFL player also shared his words about the initial meet saying, “We’re talking, and he’s like we’re Buffalo Bills fans and they had jerseys, and I thought it was the weirdest thing.”
