Dwyane Wade’s recent social media activity debunks divorce rumors with wife Gabrielle Union

Dwyane Wade, the recent inductee into the NBA Hall of Fame, had a remarkable career spanning two decades with the Heat, the Bulls, and the Cavs. While his swashbuckling style captivated the fans, his personal life was far from being all rosy.

The Utah Jazz co-owner has had his fair share of controversies, ups and downs, and now seemingly is facing yet another challenge. Dwyane Wade seems caught at that juncture after words got out about his reported split with Bad Boy II actress Gabrielle Union.

Dwyane Wade’s IG story throws divorce rumors to bins

There have been rumors about a rough patch between the power couple, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union. The 51-year-old actress did not post pictures with her husband for a while which was unusual of her.

The fans believed that the NBA Hall of Famer and Union were on the verge of splitting up. However, a recent Instagram story of Dwyane Wade threw the divorce rumors into the bins. The former basketball player posted a picture of his wife wearing a pair of Versace glasses and wrote, “They look (fire emoji) on you” which cleared all the smoke.

The couple has been married for nine years and has a daughter, Kaavia via surrogacy. The former point guard has two other children from his first wife, Zaire and Zaya.

Heat legend’s ugly split from first wife

While the Heat legend had a stellar on-court career, his off-court life was heavily publicized for the wrong reasons. The 3-time NBA Championship winner did not have it easy with his ex-wife and high-school sweetheart.

Wade and his first wife Siohvaughn Funches have known each other since childhood (from the age of 9 and 10 respectively). They had their first child at a very young age in 2002 and a few months later tied the knot.

Five years later they had their second child, Zaya Wade. Shortly after, the NBA star filed for divorce in 2007 because of their differences, and being a lawyer herself, Funches knew how to legally proceed.

It took Wade six years and a costly settlement to get out of the ugly divorce in 2013. In 2011, he also gained custody of his two children. Wade was ordered to pay $5 million on top of the monthly support of $25,000 that he pays his wife.

Wade married for a second time in 2014 with Union and the couple have been together since despite the rocky times. Union shared a video of them last month on Wade’s birthday. It is a sense of relief for their fans knowing that they are still going strong.
