Jadon Sancho’s future at the club is shrouded in uncertainty. Despite his takedown of a social media post in which the player criticized Ten Hag for his decision, the club issued a statement on their website, regarding his exclusion from first-team training.
Sancho recently removed his social media post targeting the manager, and it was believed that the matter was finally settling down. The forward was expected to make a return amid the ongoing challenges at the club, which included Antony’s absence, ownership takeover rumors, and the recent defeat to Arsenal. But as of now, the Sancho-Ten Hag saga shows no signs of resolving.
Erik ten Hag slanders Jadon Sancho
Jadon Sancho was once again missing from the team squad in their recent home defeat at Old Trafford. Seemingly, his future looks in doubt with the Red Devils. In a pre-match press conference ahead of Brighton fixture, Eric ten Hag responded to the forward’s absence from the squad.
When approached with the question, Ten Hag said “I don’t know. Tomorrow, we have a big game. We are going into a new block of games, many games in a condensed program. I focus on that.”
“He is not available, so at this moment, he is not important, because he can’t contribute.”, he responded, upon being questioned when Sancho is going to play again.
Ten Hag added further, saying: “I have to win a game. It is all about that. The players who are there and available deserve me. I have to guide them, I have to prepare them, it is about that. I only focus on the players who are available.”
Now, the club have also confirmed his unavailability from the first team on the grounds of a disciplinary issue aligning with Eric Ten Hag’s decision in this regard.
Jadon Sancho refuses to issue public apology to Erik ten Hag
According to Ten Hag, the player is not important enough to contribute to his team as of now and made it very clear that Sancho’s future at the club remains unsure.
It is believed that the forward refused to issue a public apology to the manager for his action, as demanded by the club. Hence, he was dropped from the main team and isn’t likely to feature until further notice. Up until then, he would have train with the youth squad instead.
From here onwards it’s nearly impossible for him to make a return unless he accepts the club’s terms. The 23-year-old could even possibly look for an exit in the upcoming January window if the ongoing issues do not resolve.
