Premier League club Chelsea have spent well over €400 million in the summer of 2023 to sign several players. One of them was Cole Palmer, a Manchester City Academy graduate. The English forward recently faced Manchester City and had a funny incident with his old teammate, Erling Haaland.
Every year, we see players leave their clubs to join forces with someone else. This sometimes causes bitterness between old teammates. It is good to see that Erling Haaland understands the business side of football and is still able to joke around with his former teammate.
Erling Haaland jokingly pushes away Cole Palmer
Chelsea and Manchester City faced each other in a Premier League match on November 12. Though the two teams are nowhere close to each other on the league table, the match was a close one. The first goal came in the 25th minute when Marc Cucurella committed a foul on Erling Haaland inside the penalty box. The striker stepped up to take the penalty and easily put the ball in the back of the net.
Goals came flying after that, with both teams finding the net one after another. Manchester City was leading the game with a score of 4-3, but Cole Palmer gave the Blues last-minute hope after scoring an equalizer in the dying minutes of the game.
It was after that that the Cityzens started to huddle up to make a game plan, and Palmer tried to sneak in the group of his former teammates. He tried to listen to his opponent’s strategy, but he was spotted by Erling Haaland, who jokingly pushed him away.
The moment was a wholesome one, and the fans were happy to see the two still being friends and goofing around.
Erling Haaland talks about his different goal-scoring methods
Erling Haaaland is undoubtedly one of the strongest players of this new generation. He was an absolute goal-scoring machine last season and is keeping up that form this year as well. As of now, Haaland is currently the top scorer of the Premier League 2023–24 season, having 13 goals to his name.
The Manchester City ace scored two goals last night at Stamford. Though his first goal was nothing spectacular, the second one has been getting a lot of attention from the fans. Erling Haaland scored his second goal of the game in the 47th minute, giving his team a one-goal lead over their opponents.
To everyone’s surprise, the Norwegian striker did not use his feet or head but scored with his what we call ‘scrotum’ instead. This got him plenty of laughs from the fans, and the player himself talked about the incident, saying that it was a milestone. “I have never scored with my balls before. So that is a milestone,” he said.
Halaand will surely remember this goal of his, and it is also good to see that he can still be friends with Palmer and joke around with him without hard feelings.
