Former two-division champion Henry Cejudo made his comeback in the UFC after almost three long years at UFC 288. Triple C challenged Aljamain Sterling for the bantamweight title in the main event. However, his plans to become a two-time bantamweight champion were spoilt as Aljo edged past him via split decision in what was a razor-sharp fight.
It seemed that Cejudo would take a step back as his goal of reclaiming the belt didn’t go as per his expectations. Instead of announcing his retirement, Henry vowed to his fans that he will earn the top spot back and win the bantamweight and featherweight titles.
Henry Cejudo will fight Marlon Vera at UFC 292
After losing to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288, Henry Cejudo immediately expressed his interest to fight Merab Dvalishvili as the latter is the training partner of the bantamweight champion. Moreover, the Georgian is #1 in the 135-pound division and a win over him would help him earn a second shot at the title. However, The Machine showed no interest in Henry’s callout and rejected the offer.

Henry Cejudo weighs in on his shoulder injury
It is great news for the UFC as well as the fans that Henry Cejudo wants a quick turnaround after losing the title bout against Aljamain Sterling. Although his fitness is a major concern as it jeopardizes his future fight against Marlon Vera.
While speaking in a recent video, the former UFC champion revealed that he has a shoulder injury and he can only move forward with the training camp after getting his injury checked with the doctor.
“I do have an injury and I don’t even know where my injuries are coming from honestly. Maybe it’s a little bit of that old age but I do got to get my right shoulder checked up to see if, in other words, there is a slight tear, you know on my right shoulder.”
“The biggest thing is just my shoulder. You know, if I’m able to get that healthy I’m able to think a little more clear and be able to you know game plan for somebody like Chito Vera, but as of right now that’s kind of where the question mark is.”
Hopefully, Cejudo’s shoulder injury isn’t something very serious that will keep him out of the octagon for a long time. And he should recover quickly so that fight fans around the world can witness his top-notch skills and fight IQ.
