The new salary cap of $224.8 million set by the NFL put pressure on every franchisee to reconstruct their salary disbursement or release their players. In doing so, the Denver Broncos had to release their guard Graham Glasgow on Friday.
The guard played two years with the Broncos before signing a four-year, $44 million contract with them in 2020. However, just after three years of their journey, the franchise decided to take part, which saved them $14 million. The decision seems purely commercial, but the reality is often disappointing.
After three days of release, Graham finally decided to open his mouth and share his feelings with the fans.
What did Graham Glasgow say after being released?
Though the development seems unfair and sudden, the 30-year-old guard didn’t vent on Twitter; instead, he expressed his gratitude to the organization for the opportunity he was given in the meantime.
“Now that I’ve had a few days to think, I’d like to thank the Broncos, my teammates, and the city of Denver for the past 3 seasons,” Glasgow wrote. “While I’m disappointed in how some things went and how things ended, I’m appreciative and grateful for my time here. I’m excited for what comes next!”

He started 33 games out of 37 in three years of his career with the Broncos while making 2077 offensive snaps with an 84.33% completion rate and 13 non-offsetting penalties.
Prior to joining the Broncos, he played three years with the Detroit Lions after being picked in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft. Before that, Graham played for the Michigan Wolverines football team for more than a couple of years in his college career.
On a positive note, as free agency opened on Monday, the guard can find a suitable place according to other franchises’ demands. Up until then, he has to pass a rough period of time being jobless.
