The former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury will reportedly head back to the University of Southern California football program as a senior offensive analyst, focusing on working with quarterbacks under the leadership of head coach Lincoln Riley.
Kingsbury spent his last four seasons with the Cardinals, compiling a poor 28-37-1 record and his team reached playoffs only once, albeit failed to win in the postseason. He got fired and replaced with ex-Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon in January after Arizona went disappointing 4-13, albeit the ex-Cardinals coach earlier signed a five-year deal extension with the team lasting through the 2027 season.
Before making his way to the league, Kliff spent six seasons with Texas Tech as a head coach, however, he was fired from the team after going 5-7.
Kliff Kingsbury to Join USC as a senior offensive analyst
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero tweeted on Monday claiming the ex-Cardinal coach Kliff Kingsbury set back to college, holding the position of a senior offensive analyst to work with the Trojans’ QB, including potential top prospect Caleb Williams.

According to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, Kingsbury’s duty will include game planning, watching the film with USC head coach Lincoln Riley, and attending QB meetings.
Kliff previously worked with USC as the program’s offensive coordinator in December 2018, albeit he didn’t continue the job longer after receiving interest from NFL teams.
The 43-year-old coach earlier gained fame as a QB whisperer as he helped the Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes develop when he was in Texas Tech, albeit his tactics didn’t meld well with Arizona’s veteran QB Kyler Murray.
Both Kliff and Riley completed as opposing head coaches in the Big Twelve from 2017-18 and now they will be joining hands to lead the Trojans.
Kingsbury’s arrival at USC marks another significant step in the program’s efforts to revitalize its football program. With the guidance of Riley and now Kingsbury, USC is making bold moves to regain its position as one of the nation’s football powerhouses. The Trojans’ fan base is buzzing with excitement, and expectations are high for the upcoming season.
